Day 1
Arrive Osaka, Kyoto
Arrive in Osaka and transfer to your hotel in Kyoto. Perhaps explore the city at your leisure this evening and prepare for a full day of sightseeing tomorrow.

Day 2
Nara, Kyoto
Dive straight into your journey across Japan. Transfer to the former imperial capital, Nara. Deer walk about the streets of this city freely, and grand Buddhist temples, including Todaiji Temple with its fascinating giant Buddha statue, can be found all throughout. The narrow streets are set against a backdrop of calming woods and hills. Travel for little over an hour to Kyoto where you and your fellow travellers will be introduced to the Land of the Rising Sun with a delightful Welcome Dinner.

Day 3
The cultural capital of Japan, your tour takes you back to the 7th century when this city was first born, through to the modern day. Discover the wealth of incredible architecture and world-famous Shinto and Buddhist temples which decorate the aged city. Learn about cultural traditions and discover the famous practice of tea ceremonies through the careful preparation and presentation which are considered to be vital aspects.

Day 4
Kyoto, Yudanaka
Enjoy some time in Kyoto at leisure, exploring different parts of the city. You might even simply spend the day relaxing or getting to know your fellow travellers. Upon arrival in Yudanaka, check into your hotel.

Day 5
Yudanaka, Tokyo
Today you discover the iconic snow monkeys of Yudanaka at Jigokudani, otherwise known as the Snow Monkey Park. At this park, over 160 monkeys congregate to enjoy the steaming hot water. After spending some time observing the furry animals and beautiful snow-dusted scenery, continue by both local rail and Bullet Train to the current capital city, Tokyo.

Day 6
Enjoy a tour of the bustling city centre by coach this morning, and discover incredible locations. You’ll visit places including the modern icon, Tokyo Tower, and ancient architectural sites such as the Meiji Shrine and Imperial Palace Plaza. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the ancient Asakusa Kannon Temple, which is Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple.

Day 7
Enjoy a morning of leisure in Tokyo. Take some time to relax and wander about on your own. Later, you travel by Bullet Train to Hakodate on the island of Hokkaido.This evening, after settling into your comfortable hotel, continue to Mt Hakodate.

Day 8
Hakodate, Sapporo
After exploring the vibrant stalls of Hakodate fish market at your own pace, continue by regional rail to Sapporo.

Begin a guided tour of the city and learn about its many other fascinating sites. Later this evening, enjoy a special Farewell Dinner with your fellow travellers.

Depart Sapporo
