Day 1
Arrive Reykjavík, Embark Cruise
Fly from the UK to Iceland. Be met on arrival and transfer to your ship, the Ocean Diamond, your spacious home for the next nine nights. As your ship sets sail this evening, enjoy dinner with your fellow guests.

Day 2
Stykkishólmur, Snæfellsjökull
Wake this morning in Breiðafjörður Bay with views of the charming town of Stykkishólmur. At the gateway to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, you’ll be able to see the iconic Snæfellsjökull volcano in the distance. Take in an incredible Insider Experience, stopping en route at picturesque fishing ports and beaches. Alternatively, spend the morning exploring the town. Return to your ship for lunch. This evening, you’ll cruise past the Látrabjarg cliffs, the westernmost point of Europe and a haven for native birds like the Atlantic puffins.

Day 3
Ísafjörður, Hornbjarg Cliffs
This morning you’ll be greeted by the sheer beauty of the Western fjords. As you dock at the port of Ísafjörður, enjoy an Insider Experience to Vigur, home to five residents, puffins, eider ducks and Arctic terns. Alternatively, you may choose to enjoy time at leisure and explore the old buildings of Ísafjörður, or visit the maritime museum or cultural centre. This afternoon, enjoy your Insider Experience.

Day 4
Siglufjörður, Grímsey Island
Arrive at Siglufjörður, a picturesque town built into a small fjord with the rugged mountains as its backdrop. In the early 1900s, a booming economy due to the herring industry resulted in a prosperous town with some marvellous Icelandic architecture. Stroll through the town and visit the Herring Era Museum. This afternoon, you’ll take in a unique Insider Experience at Grímsey Island. Here you’ll enjoy time at leisure, perhaps choosing to trek across the island at your own pace. Be on the lookout for whales as we cruise to Eyjafjörður following dinner.

Day 5
Akureyri
This delightful town on the north coast of Iceland is abuzz with energy despite its remote location. Here you’ll enjoy an Insider Experience. Afterwards, explore the town and visit Arts’ Alley, the cultural centre of the city, or the local church with its beautiful views over the fjord. Return to the ship for lunch before an afternoon at leisure. Explore the city further, or perhaps enjoy a hike in nearby Kjarnaskógur. Alternatively, an optional tour will take you to a volcanic world of lava fields, boiling mud pools and sulphuric steam vents in the Lake Mývatn-Krafla area. There you will have time to unwind in the natural hot springs or embark on a bird watching walk before returning to the ship via the almighty Goðafoss waterfall.

Day 6
Húsavík
Your morning is off to a delightful start with your whale watching Insider Experience. Head back to your ship for lunch before an afternoon at leisure in town. Explore the streets, take in the Whale Museum, wander the Exploration Museum or visit the quaint local church.

Day 7
Seyðisfjörður
This morning we arrive at the picturesque town of Seyðisfjörður, a 19th-century fishing harbour with a well-preserved architectural style. A walking tour carries you past the bright colours of the Norwegian-style buildings and shops that are famous for their Icelandic patterned knitwear. Later, the keen walkers might choose to embark on an energetic optional hike up the Fjarðará river trail through a verdant landscape carpeted with wildflowers, or perhaps a hike to the Hengifoss waterfall.

Djúpivogur, Vatnajökull Glacier
Dock in Djúpivogur and enjoy your Insider Experience to Vatnajökull Glacier.

Day 9
Westman Islands
Your final day in Iceland is spent at the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar). The archipelago possesses a dramatic volcanic history. This morning, circumnavigate Surtsey Island, born from a volcanic eruption in 1963. Few places in the world illustrate more dramatically the powerful forces of nature. This afternoon, you’ll take in an Insider Experience to Heimaey. Later, if time permits, you’ll board a Zodiac to explore the surrounding cliffs and coves.

Day 10
Reykjavík
Your journey ends in Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavík. After breakfast, you’ll disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
